Important changes:

  • The correct music is now played on levels/worlds when loaded from savegames (PR #174 by datahead)
  • Spinbox’ spinning state is now saved and loaded properly (PR #185 by brianvanderburg2)
  • New white1_1 block (ticket #98 by sauer2)
  • Crate positions are now properly saved (ticket #167 by datahead)
  • Level editor is now closed when you click "enter" in the menu while the editor is opened (ticket #148 by datahead)
  • Several new background music files
  • World waypoints now appear on top of the way again (ticket #126 by penguin)
  • Toggling multiple sprites with "m" in the editor now doesn’t confuse the Z ordering
  • New skyscrapers background by Dreamer

This release also experiments with a replacement for the green ground tileset by Crabmaster, but it is very likely to be swapped by an even better tileset by Bugsbane. The full list of commits (42 in total):

The account had already been created, just the confirmation email was blocked by hotmail so you couldn’t complete the registration process. I’ve shortcutted that for you and activated the account by hand. You should be able to log in with your chosen username and password now.

No, only ciro589m. But i tried also with Gmail account and it also doesn't send me a confirmation email :/
Anyway i tried to access with ciro589m and it says "Authentication failure." again

As I understand it, there's a display bug with one of the new graphics, and we're waiting till Bugsbane has a chance to fix it. He tends to be pretty busy.
Quintus also has some other stuff going on and is the one who has been posting the builds.
Even I'm really busy (though I keep browsing on the web briefly each time I get a headache from grading) :)

Sometimes everyone just gets busy, and an open source project just has to wait until their schedules free up...

With some delay, the fifth beta has been released. The most notable changes are graphics changes this time:

  • Yellow boxes changed to crates (PR #227 by Bugsbane)
  • Coins changed to jewels (PR #227 by Bugsbane)
  • Improve green ground (PR #207 by Bugsbane)
  • Powerups have been changed to berries (PR #227 by Bugsbane)
  • Pip won’t hurt you anymore immediately after you jumped on him (Ticket #216 by datahead)
  • New climbing ladder by mrvertigo and DarkAceZ

New climbing ladder by mrvertigo and datahead

I did not help with the ladder. I think it was Mr. Vertigo and Dark Ace Z.

This fix also needs to be tested by the beta testers:
  • Guarantee 1 second invincibility after a save state load

The sixth beta has been released today, and this will be the last beta version if everything goes well. Changes:

  • Several renames of SMC to TSC
  • Licensing cleanup
  • Fix credits (ticket #48 by me)
  • Better documentation of particle emitters in the scripting API (ticket #5 by me)
  • Several hills graphics replacements by DarkAceZ (ticket #236 by datahead8888)
  • Several new music tracks by Aakburns
  • Save events can now be chained, so that with multiple save events the later handlers do not overwrite content created by earlier event handlers.
  • Fix bonus box state not being saved in a savegame
  • Don’t crash when an invalid target level is encountered (ticket #146 by datahead8888)

All bugs tagged for version 2.0.0 have been fixed. This means that we are ready to publish the final version now. Unless new bugs are discovered in this beta version, this weekend will see the Release Candidate, which we expect to be free of heavy bugs.

There has been quite a lot been happening in the time between beta6 and beta7. Not to say all the time.

The eigth beta has been released. There have again been lots of improvements, feel free to check the commit log.

All Mario music has been replaced or removed, and the world maps have been cleared from the Mario pipes. This beta is expected to be the last one, with the RC following soon.

I will update the OP accordingly.

Stable version 2.0.0 of TSC has finally been released! There will be a more complete announcement on http://www.secretchronicles.de in the next days. Until then, here’s the (somewhat short) announcement on the mailinglist/forum.

I have adjusted the download links in the OP.

Please join the TSC forum at http://forum.secretchronicles.de. I can’t guarantee the future of this forum.
