I was remaking green ground as a SVG, and I decided to make the apples first.

So here is the apple, I also made three more, yellow, red, and a weird purple one.

OK first try on the ground/green_3/*.* as SVG.
I did the top one, yes I know it needs LOTS of work, but right now it is power of 2 and tiles.
Will work on this more later.

Feedback :
- apple highlights are a bit too strong.
- nice first ground tile. be creative with it and update it as it still looks too much like the new super mario bothers ground.

I've drawn some lianas: /lianas/1_green.png and /lianas/1_blue.png.
I hope that will be useful. :)

Ground feedback :
- you are fast :D
- the green part is way too shiny.
- the bottom parts should have no shadow above the green part.
- did you try it out ingame ? if the lines don't work out make it more rough.

Here is the update.

Fixed the things you said, added export layer, went to test in game, and found I had little gaps in the export, so when I fix that I will post screen shots.

feedback if i may

-try to change the path a bit more on the end piece in the top green section (this will make it look a bit less repetitive)
- Maybe do a green ground top 2 with a slightly different path to add variety and reduce the repetitive look
- when its approved and in git can we get another similar version with a darker brown whisp in the brown section? I think that would be a nice touch in levels that need to appear a bit darker. but please wait till it gets in cause splitting it now might get really frustrating as you then have two svgs to tweak if there is a need.

It probably needs some more revisions as it should look really good and 'fitting in' mostly because it's a often used and important sprite-set.
It doesn't yet look better that the original because of the shading but i could help out here.

Do you still want feedback ?
You could ask mrvertigo27 or me to continue it.

That would be nice, because I have put a good bit of work into this, and I am having a hard time trying to think what to do next with it.

So...many.....clones!!!!!!! :drugged:
But anyway, I want to know your opinion on this try I have on a good quality new green ground.

There are some improvements that can be made but it looks good altogether in my opinion. :]]

BTW: The other ground pieces are not finished, and still look like the other ground idea I had. :nutcase:

Both are very interesting, but in my opinion they don't quite fit in with the existing levels.

why not make it an alternative to the green tile set, like green tiles 2

then It will add even more excitement to new levels, but not replace the old tileset.

Crabmaster's draft would look terrific apart from the fine details in the grass. However, the size of the graphic will have to be reduced for in-game use.

I agree with hutty that it might have to be used as an alternative. Plenty of levels use the grass as your main floor and so it would change the appearance of many levels.

Agreed, now that I think of it this would look better as Green_ground_2.
