*~*~* X-Mas Mood *~*~*

Postby *mid* » 05 Dec 2010 00:36

Ho ho ho everyone :)

I created this Christmas-Level 2 years ago! It's pretty easy and just a have-fun-and-look-around level :)
Unfortunately I wasn't able to install the game ever since I got my new computer (always tells me RUNTIME ERROR) so I hope I'm uploading the right version!
Have fun with it!

Thanks, -DarkAceZ-!

Luiji: what's a 'level dipository' and what does it mean you put my level there? By the way, I'm *mid*, not *mod* ;)

The Secret Maryo Chronicles Contributed Levels Repository is a grand repository of levels of graphics, initiated by MrVertigo27. The project consisted of extracting all of the level files from the forums in order to remove a few gibibytes from the forum and load them into one central zone. The largest part of the project was to make all of the levels store their graphics in the contrib-graphics folder instead of misc. places in the pixmaps directory, thus making it easier to install levels that have graphics.

A new project, initiated by me, is to create a package manager to make installation of these levels even easier. Level sets now have "package files" which allow a program called 'smc-get' to download the levels automatically. Thus, your level can simply be installed by typing 'smc-get install christmas-level' at the command-line. In the future, this tool will be merged with SMC, thus allow your level to be installed right from within the game!

I believe that in the repository there should be 3 download options:
1- Downloading individual level files.
2- Download a package with level with many level files and even custom graphics/music.
3- Download everything in the repository.

I can only download everything at once, which wastes time.

And I have not seen this level yet.

I think the "SMC-git" thing will be able to do that in the final finished phase....At least that is what I think I read in the topic for it.

Anyway, I plan on playing the levels soon!
Feeling nostalgic for this ol' place!

smc-get, and you can do everything you just said, levelengine. smc-get downloads packages, you can download individual files from GitHub, and you can download them all with Git or the download source option at GitHub.
