[1.9] higher hertz causes a slowdown

Postby raj7095 » 06 Jun 2010 00:00

recently, i figured the cause of the lag in this game. it was caused if i started the game with the sound set as 48000 hz (my highest). i got a reduction of about 25 fps. however, if i change it to the lowest and then make it higher, its running at a normal speed. so, what i am wondering is that if i can make a shell script that will change the sound to 48000 hz when i start it up and make it the lowest when shutting it down. sorry for the bad english. i am using archlinux, if thats necessary. and alsa

That's a strange issue. The Sound frequency is stored in ~/.smc/config.xml. You could write a script to change this, but that file is only read once when the game starts, so you wouldn't be able to change it while the game is running. I'd quite like to know what's causing this bug and it it affects everyone...

i didnt have that at the beginning. i always got that problem after playing smc on i think my 13th or 14th try. reinstalling doesnt help either. and i never made any changes to my xorg configurations either. could it be possible that a music player is somehow interfering?

It appears you need to install OpenGL.
