The background graphic for the level test_1 doesn't look right.

EDIT: The messed up turtle and furball was because of screenshot problems by Gnome, the background is the only problem.

This is actually intended to see if the new top background type works.
Please use the date for git. You can post the commit checksum in the post.
If i didn't read your post but it was important you can send me a PM.

I didn't know that was the checksum, and I don't know how to figure out when I had downloaded the GIT revision.

Which client are you using ?
It should display which commit your at and with the date...

I am using the GIT version that is provided by the Ubuntu Software Repository. I am not using any GUI clients, as they all seem to decrease the speed of my work.

Isn't Gitk in the standard Git package ?
If you open the history with it it should display where you at.

In Linux software repositories, it is usually separated into git and git-gui.

As for finding the version information, I'm close to finding it.
