Visible Path Line When Playing

Postby -DarkAceZ- » 15 Jul 2011 01:53

Sometimes it almost nice to see where the lift is going to go! So maybe we could have a checkbox in the settings of the path, and when it's checked, you can see the line in-game!

Or you could just make the line with a series of passive blocks. =)

Yeah, I do that, but it the line looks better IMO and it would take less time.

Personally, I think the blocks would look better. =)

Are you thinking of a dotted line?

No. Just like the one that's in the editor: A one-pixel tall line showing where the lift goes.

Thick, not tall. This probably isn't too hard to implement, so I see no reason not to add it. Any objections?

No objections, I assume.

One of the things that makes for a likeable game is having a sizeable number of options. No reason not to have it, and it someone might come up with a creative way to use it outside of pathing.

You could see where lifts were going in Super Mario Brothers. 3 and Super Mario World. I, for one, think that you should be able to see where lifts go in SMC. How do you know if that lift isn't leading you to certain death?

If the lift was leading you to certain death, then that's probably supposed to be a secret.

An option to turn them on/off is what I was saying.

Hmm, yes, I think I had made this same feature request some time ago.

Would be a lot better then placing blocks every time you want it to show a path.

Actually, this is an old topic, DevEd2 decided to bring it back up for some reason.

I brought it back up because it seems like a good idea.
