I don't see any Puppy or DSL on here... http://secretmaryo.org/index.php?page=g ... &sid=?sid=

Neither of them support any of the package formats of those distributions, thus you would need to compile the source code yourself, and considering the limited package support of both systems you would also have to compile many of their dependencies (even SDL).

I do want to eventually create Portable Binaries of the current SMC Git that can just be downloaded and run without installation as a form of "SMC 2.0 Preview."

THAT would be PERFECT for SMC on CD!

I don't think such a preview should be burnt.

I'm just saying that would be good for new users to burn a copy of the CD/downloadable version, give it to a friend, and have a screen come up saying....... Try it! Maybe you'll like it or something like that.

I also would like portable SMC since I would like to play on my grandmother's computer however i can't install anything because I only have user privileges on there. :/

If I were to do this I would make it so that it does not have to be installed, so you could probably just keep it on a USB stick, but alphas on CDs...that's something I think should only be done when absolutely necessary.

Does anyone know what repo I need to add to get SMC and its dependencies to show in Synaptic?

Which distribution are you utilizing? On Ubuntu the native repositories should support the package "smc".

Hmm...
Debian Lenny 5 PPC (kernel 2.3.32)
the bootloader (elf) is MiNI mikep5
I already searched smc on Synaptic but it found nothing. I'm wondering though, if you download the Debian version from here http://secretmaryo.org/index.php?page=g ... &sid=?sid= will it pull all of it's dependencies?

[EDIT] I'm not sure if this could be called good news, but it definitively isn't bad. Supertux works with lots of speed to spare!

I'm glad you got SuperTux working! That's a pretty good game, and I like to switch between SMC and it when I'm bored.

Also, try opening a command-prompt and running "sudo apt-get install smc".

Yes I own a Wii, no I don't have any knowledge what so ever how to get this ported to Wii. And no I don't have the budget to afford any serious tools to develop for the Wii anyways.
Don't just download my music. Please give feedback. That's the least I do when I hear a good track.

I guess I could just copy my sources.list from this Computer and put it on WiiLinux...

The PowerPC version might not support SMC in its repositories... you might just want to build SMC yourself.

The Wii runs on PowerPC, and it supports some very high-power games.

I thought it ran on ARM..... with the help of an ATI chip.

:D We should make SMC downloadable in the DSI shop! This sounded like an arguement earlier in the topic. But Luiji kept in complete control!
