Thanks. In the meantime I’ve made further progress:

  • All enemies are available from scripting.
  • All boxes are available from scripting.
  • Static sprites work.
  • Displaying messages the user has to close (like textboxes) works.
  • Backtraces work. This was very important.

I know this topic is old as hell but I just want to say, from the look of that you migrated from Lua -> Ruby, which is awesome as all hell and I think will make scripting 10x more awesome.

I'm glad the project still gets updated. This is the first forum I've ever joined, and SMC is the first project I ever contributed a line of code to (though, if you check the logs carefully, you'll see I never really contributed that much). I need to keep a more careful eye on the project -- it's turning out great. ;)

Good work, Quintus. The API looks great.

Dell Inspiron 1440 (Windows Server 2003, Debian w/ KDE)
Dell Inspiron 11z (Linux Mint)

Thank you very much :D Glad to see my work looks acceptable for you.

I hope so. Ruby is a fully-fledged OO language but still is very readable even for non-programmers. Those who want will be able to write real "scripting libraries" with its features.

It’s sooooo much work. But I’m really enjoying it. If you look at my repository, you’ll notice I’m not working on SMC all the time — I simply can’t. But I try to do as much as it is possible.

Oh, and of course I won’t stop you from further contributions ;)
